ジェムショーの間は町中がにわかショー会場に早変わりします。
この写真ではツーソンのダウンタウンにあるインスイーツというホテルが会場となっています。
一階にある中庭に面した部屋はすべてブースとなり一日中いろいろな人が出入りすることとなります。
外国から数えきれないほどの業者さんがやってきますが、ほとんどの人たちが、夜はこの店のかわりになる部屋で寝泊まりしています。
ショーでは石を見るのも勿論楽しいですが、何より世界中から集まった石の専門家さんたちとお話するのが何より楽しいと思いました。
多くの業者さんが日本のショーのためにも来日していますが、やはりツーソンでの値段のほうがずっと安いそうです。
この日はとても暑くて、２月だというのに、中庭のプールで子供が泳いでいました。
走り回っていた私もＴシャツ一枚で、じりじりと太陽にやかれるようでした。
さすが砂漠にある街は気温も高いです。
